Emission reduction brings opportunities to auto parts industry

In recent years, the State Council and local governments have issued more than ten policies on air pollution prevention and control, fuel consumption limits, internal combustion engine energy conservation and emission reduction, and vehicle emission upgrading. Undoubtedly, it has brought great pressure to the automotive industry, which has attracted much attention in the process of energy conservation and emission reduction, but it also brings development opportunities to auto parts enterprises.
Scrap yellow label car to promote parts remanufacturing
Auto parts remanufacturing is a hot topic in automobile industry in recent years.
Compared with the air pollution prevention and control action plan issued by the State Council in September 2013, the newly released action plan puts forward more strict and detailed requirements for the elimination of yellow label cars and old cars. By the end of 2014, 6 million yellow label cars and old cars will be eliminated in China, and all yellow label vehicles will be eliminated by 2017. Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta will be the key governance areas. Provinces and cities have also planned detailed elimination indicators. The renovation of yellow label cars and old cars is expected to become a catalyst for the rapid development of automobile disassembly and recycling and parts remanufacturing industry.
It is understood that by the end of 2013, there were 13 million yellow label vehicles in China, accounting for about 10% of the car ownership. In recent years, China's automobile market will usher in a stage of rapid growth in the number of scrapped vehicles. It is worth noting that with the improvement of national regulations on the recovery and remanufacturing of ELVs, the recycling value of the eliminated vehicles will be further improved, and at the same time, the occurrence of irregular recycling will be effectively avoided. In addition, most provinces and cities give different degrees of subsidies to the yellow label cars eliminated in advance, so as to promote the yellow label vehicles to flow into the regular dismantling channels.
The administrative measures for the recovery of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) implemented since June 2001 stipulates that the "five major assemblies" disassembled by ELV recycling enterprises shall not be remanufactured, but this regulation will be changed. In March 2008, the national development and Reform Commission issued the "management measures for the Pilot Remanufacturing of auto parts", which allows 14 pilot enterprises to recycle five types of products, namely engine, transmission, generator, steering gear and starter, for remanufacturing. In July 2010, the State Council issued the "Regulations on the administration of recycling and dismantling of end-of-life motor vehicles", which allows the remanufacturing of "five major assemblies". Once the regulation is formally implemented, it will undoubtedly improve the recycling rate of end-of-life vehicles.
In addition, the internal combustion engine remanufacturing promotion plan released in November last year promoted the large-scale and standardized development of internal combustion engine remanufacturing industry. It is understood that the sales volume of remanufactured engine products of Weichai and other enterprises increased significantly last year. Some enterprises in Japan and the United States have also begun to intervene in China's automobile disassembly and parts remanufacturing industry.
Tightening fuel consumption limit turbo charging explosion
The fuel consumption of 5.0 liters per 100 km is difficult to achieve for most of the vehicles running on the market. "By 2015, the average fuel consumption of passenger cars produced in that year will drop to 6.9 L / 100km. By 2020, the average fuel consumption of passenger cars produced in that year will be reduced to 5.0 L / 100 km. " This is one of the objectives of the "energy saving and new energy vehicle industry development plan" issued by the State Council in June 2012.
In order to achieve this goal, in January this year, the state issued mandatory national standards of "limits on fuel consumption of passenger cars" and "evaluation methods and indicators of fuel consumption of passenger cars" with direct effect and strict evaluation, and solicited public opinions. On May 7, the Ministry of industry and information technology issued the "notice on strengthening the management of average fuel consumption of passenger car enterprises", which specified the relevant punishment measures, including public notification, suspension of new car declaration and suspension of new capacity approval. This fully demonstrates the country's determination to promote energy-saving products in the automotive industry.
In the face of strict fuel consumption limits, small displacement supercharged vehicles are highly praised. Not only are they foreign-funded enterprises, but also auto companies with independent brands such as brilliance, great wall, Chery, SAIC Roewe and BYD have been constantly improving turbocharged models in recent years. Honeywell, an American auto parts company, predicts that the market size of Chinese turbochargers will double from 5 million in 2013 to 10 million in 2018, and the matching proportion of turbochargers will reach more than 30%.
One of the effective ways to reduce fuel consumption is to lose weight. Some experts say that if the average weight of all cars in the country is reduced by 25%, then the fuel consumption can be reduced by 13%. Therefore, the automotive parts made of magnesium aluminum alloy, plastic and new lightweight materials are more and more recognized by the society. With the progress of technology and the reduction of cost, the range of parts that can be made by this kind of lightweight materials continues to expand, and the reliability is also stronger. In addition, idling start stop, two-stage / multi-stage supercharger, green tire and other technologies which can help to reduce fuel consumption also have a good development prospect.
Emission upgrading and post-treatment enterprises welcome the dawn
Every enterprise has been affected by the upgrading of automobile parts and components.
In April this year, the Ministry of industry and information technology announced No.27 in 2014 that the implementation time of the national four emission standards for diesel vehicles was finally finalized. Since December 31, 2014, the "announcement" of diesel vehicle products applicable to the third phase of national automobile emission standards will be abolished, and the national three diesel vehicle products will not be sold from January 1, 2015. In other words, from January 1, next year, all diesel vehicles sold nationwide must implement the national four emission standards. At present, more stringent local emission standards are also brewing. Beijing will start to implement Beijing 6 standard in 2016, according to the official of Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau.
Engine and accessories, after treatment system, automotive urea and other related enterprises finally ushered in the dawn. These parts enterprises are closely following the implementation progress of the national four and five emission standards
